All you need to be a Casa Dog foster is the ability to provide a home for a dog until they find their forever home. We will match you with a dog suited to your preferences and can provide guidance and support along the way. While the dog is staying with you, Casa Dog takes care of any vet bills and you provide the food and bedding (ask of you can't).
Fostering can be done around your schedule! Many of our fosters work full time so don’t worry if your foster dog needs to hang out on his or her own for a while during the day. If you travel or some weeks are more hectic than others, you can foster at your convenience.
Often people worry that it will be hard to let their foster dog go. Some fosters to find it challenging, but there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a dog who lived on the streets go home with a family who is so full of joy to have the privilege of his or her company.
Give fostering a try and open your home, and heart, to a dog in need. Please fill out our foster application below, and we will contact you as soon as we can.
What does a foster parent do?
Foster parenting is a wonderful way to enjoy the love and attention of an animal without making a permanent commitment. Because we don’t have a facility, Casa Dog is foster based. By taking an animal into your home, you are allowing it to become accustomed to a safe and loving home life.
Do I get to choose which animal I want to foster?
Yes, we will help determine which of our pets fits that description.
What if the dog I am fostering does not work out for me?
If at any time the fit of the animal in your care is not working for you, we will be happy to take the animal back and try a different animal in its place. Just like people, animals all have different personalities, and our goal is to help find the right animal for your situation.
Who pays for veterinary care?
Casa Dog has a list of approved veterinarians with whom we have associations with and we pay for all veterinary fees.
But how will the animal find a permanent home if it is living with me?
Casa Dog requires the animal to be available for a meet and greet with our approved applicants. Once an application is received, an adoption coordinator will connect you with the applicant to set up an appointment for a meet and greet.
